Villaraigosa Ushers in Dark Day for Los Angeles

With yesterday's landslide victory for Antonio Villaraigosa over incumbent James Hahn for the mayoral office, it is a dark day indeed for the City of Angels.

To be sure, both Hahn and Villaraigosa were horrible candidates who represent the worst of the political spectrum.  Both are pro-gay, pro-abortion, and pro-socialism.  Both are liberal Democrats.  Both reject the goals of restoring American jurisprudence to its biblical foundations.  Both reject limited constitutional government.

In a normal multiparty election, no Christian Constitutionalist should ever cast a vote for either of these two men.

However, this was a runoff election between two finalist candidates, and Villaraigosa is probably the single most anti-borders candidate that the city could have ever elected.  I can truly say that Mr. Villaraigosa will be the most illegal alien-friendly Mayor in the history of Los Angeles.  He will be a magnet for increased illegal immigration and a lightning rod for anti-American multiculturalism and multilinguism.

His ties with the militant group, Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (MEChA), an organization that seeks to reconquer the southwest portion of the United States for Mexico, should make every Angeleno, every Californian, and every American shudder in his boots.  As a former conservative college activist who has had plenty of run-ins with MEChistas in the past, I know all too well what the aspirations and goals of these revolutionaries truly are.  None of these militants have the best interests of California or the United States in mind, and neither does Villaraigosa.

The MEChA Constitution specifically states, "General membership [in MEChA] shall consist of any student who accepts, believes and works for the goals and objectives of MEChA, including the liberation of AZTLAN, meaning self-determination of our people in this occupied state and the physical liberation of our land."

The "liberation of AZTLAN" translated means a rejection of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the sovereignty of the United States.

Although I live in a suburb just outside the actual City of Los Angeles, I would have cast a vote for Hahn, but only because it was a runoff election between two finalists.

Some Christian Constitutionalists might ask me, "How can you vote for a pro-gay, pro-abort like James Hahn under any circumstances?"

My answer would be that I would never vote for the lesser of two evils when other better candidates appear on the ballot.  I will always seek the best ballot-qualified candidate.

However, in a runoff election where only one of two candidates are legally allowed to win the election outright, it is absolutely necessary to select the lesser of two evils.  In the case of the runoff election for the Mayor of Los Angeles, clearly the choice would have been for Hahn over Villaraigosa.  In my estimation, a vote for Villaraigosa is a vote for MEChA.  It is a vote for subversion.

As one who was born in Hollywood and who loves so many aspects of beautiful Los Angeles, the greatest metropolis on earth, I can boldly say that today I am embarrassed and horrified that Angelenos would possibly elect such a left-wing militant as Antonio Villaraigosa.

We no longer deserve to have any borders between our state and Mexico by selecting a man like Villaraigosa to be Mayor of Los Angeles.

We can only pray that the damage to be caused these next four years will be minimal.
