The State of Connecticut’s
nickname is the Constitution
State.
If asked, most people may guess that the reason for this nickname is that Connecticut may have been the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution.
In actuality, they’d be wrong. Delaware was the first, having done so on December 7, 1787. Connecticut was the fourth state to ratify.
So, why the nickname?
